What i can say about this title, but i can definitely say that, you may feel amazed after reading this post and it'll push you to search more about 'The Great Amazon Rainforest'.

- Word Amazon derives from a war between Francisco de Orellana, the first European to travel the length of the Amazon river, and various south American tribes including the Tapuya of Brazil. The tribeswomen fought alongside the men, so Orellana called them Amazons after the fierce female warriors of Greek mythology.
- Amazon Rainforest is called "Lungs of the Planet",because it produces more than 20% of world's Oxygen.
- It is known as ' Amazonia ' in English, or also called ' Amazon Jungle '.
- Area : 5,500,000 km^2
- If it started raining, it would take 10 mitutes to get wet. How dense it is...!!
- It contains more than 390 billions of individual trees.
- It receives average 9 feet of rainfall in every year.
- Only 1 % of the plants have been tested for a medical properties found in the rainforest. Think about the posibilities...!!
- In 1500 there were between about 6 to 9 million Amazon natives, but today only 2,50,000 left.There are may be 170 different languages spoken by them.
- There are approximately 50 tribes that have never had any contact with the rest of the world.
- Amazon tribes uses amazon plants regularly, but in that 90 % are those ,who have never studied modern science.
- If Amazon rainforest was a country, it would have a 9th rank in the world.
